Sophie's short bob - a nHair groom (Personal project)

Personal project that I have been doing in the last months. It is the first groom that I do, it was really challenging but very satisfying in the end. Thanks to André Pires for the hairline and render tips, Dan Eder for the great tutorial on how to make hair in Zbrush and all the nHair tutorials that I consumed in this last months (especially ZeroLimitChannel and Victory3D).

For those wondering how this was made, I started in Zbrush with a very basic base mesh, it was more like a wet rag than hair at the start, haha. On top of that, I slowly modeled the strands with Dylan Ekren's hair tubes brush. When it was taking some form, it was a back and forth between Maya and Zbrush until it reached its final version. After that I extracted the curves, prepared them and set everything for nHair in its respective system. From there I didn't find much more information on nHair, so I had a time of "touching everything" to refine the groom as much as possible, where I overwrote the follicles that needed to have other data, added a few more curves to the groom and finally applied an aiHairStandard material to the hair.

After so much nHair I decided that I wanted to do the rest in some other way, so I made the eyebrows and eyelashes with polys. Finally I set some lights and did some renders.

The head is part of a project I'm doing in Animum that I'll upload soon.
